As a result, players in New York will be able to make bets with BetMGM, an official Sports Betting Partner of the Knicks, Rangers, and Madison Square Garden Arena. BetMGM is a joint venture between MGM Resorts International and Entain.

BetMGM’s integration with MGM Resorts’ M life Rewards program will also give New York customers the chance to redeem their gameplay for experiences at MGM Resorts properties such as Empire City Casino in Yonkers, Borgata in New Jersey, MGM National Harbor in Maryland, and Bellagio and MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

"With today's monumental news, we'll now be able to fully activate our relationships with MGM Resorts' Empire City Casino and Madison Square Garden. We look forward to offering customers in New York unique experiences that they can't access on any other platform," said BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt. "A huge thank you to the New York Gaming Commission as well as to our entire BetMGM team who have worked tirelessly to bring this to fruition."

Standing as an official Sports Betting Partner of Madison Square Garden Arena means customers will also be in line for BetMGM rewards such as VIP experiences involving the Knicks and Rangers.

Four operators had already launched mobile platforms in New York on Saturday 8 January and BetMGM will no doubt be a big player once its launch is complete.

Four further operators are expected to be fully operational in the Empire State once all regulatory approvals are finalised.
