Man leaves son, puppy in vehicle to visit Casino

Ak-Chin Indian Community, AZ- Authority has arrested a man from south of Maricopa for leaving his son and a puppy in the car to visit a casino, and when officers tried to contact him, he took off.

According to the reports, Harrah’s casino called around 6:30 on Sunday, August 11 to report a complaint that a child and dog are in the vehicle in the parking lot of the casino on tribal land near south of Maricopa. The officers arrived to find an 11-year-old boy and five-year-old puppy.

Police says they have a surveillance video from the casino, which shows that a man left the car and walked towards the casino. The accused is identified as Daren Garner. Garner has been taken into custody and has been charged with endangerment, child abuse and neglect.
